The Minister of State for Microfinance, Kyeyune Kasolo, has contributed running kits worth UGX 5 million in support of the upcoming Kabaka Birthday Run, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS in Uganda. The run, scheduled for 12th April 2026, remains one of the most significant annual events aimed at mobilizing communities towards better health and social responsibility.
The Minister, who was represented at the official handover ceremony by a delegation led by NRM Greater Mukono senior spokesperson Hajj Hakim Kyeswa, delivered the contribution at Bulange Mengo. The gesture highlights the importance of collective action in addressing public health challenges, particularly HIV/AIDS, which continues to affect thousands of Ugandans.
This year’s run is held under the theme, “Men for Good Health to Save the Girl Child and the Fight to End HIV/AIDS by 2030.” The campaign places a strong emphasis on engaging men as key stakeholders in reducing new HIV infections. By encouraging responsible behavior, regular health check-ups, and open conversations within families, the initiative seeks to create lasting change at the grassroots level.
The Kabaka Birthday Run has over the years grown into a powerful platform for health advocacy, drawing participation from thousands across the country. As Uganda intensifies efforts to eliminate HIV/AIDS by 2030, partnerships between government leaders, cultural institutions, and the public remain crucial. Contributions such as this not only support the success of the run but also reinforce the shared responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s future generations.
