The race for digital leadership intensified today as Uganda’s online community turned its attention to the highly anticipated UOX presidential debate. Under the banner “UOX Decides: The Next X (Formerly Twitter) President,” candidates stepped forward to outline their vision for a more influential, united, and engaging space on X. The debate quickly set the tone for a contest driven not by traditional politics, but by influence, authenticity, and the power of numbers.
Joan, widely known as “Mama Uganda,” emphasized unity and inclusivity, presenting herself as a voice for everyday users who seek a safer and more supportive online environment. She highlighted the importance of amplifying grassroots voices and fostering meaningful conversations beyond trends and virality. Her message resonated with many who believe leadership on X should reflect community values rather than just popularity metrics.
Ivan, on the other hand, leaned into innovation and digital strategy, promising to elevate Ugandan presence on X through coordinated campaigns, visibility, and stronger engagement. Meanwhile, Kirya Mesach, also known as Kirya Ug, delivered one of the most memorable lines of the debate: “On X we are all equal, we just have numbers.” His argument centered on meritocracy in the digital space, where influence is earned through consistency, content, and connection with the audience. By the end of the debate, Kirya Ug emerged as the most liked candidate, gaining strong support across the platform and positioning himself as a frontrunner in the race.
As the debate concluded, it became clear that this is more than just a symbolic race—it is a reflection of how Ugandans are shaping identity and leadership in the digital age. With momentum building and conversations spreading across timelines, the decision now lies in the hands of the online community. UOX Decides 2026 is not just about choosing a president—it’s about defining the future of Uganda’s voice on X.
