Authorities in Uganda have intensified operations targeting illegal immigration and unlicensed business activities, resulting in the arrest of over 200 foreign nationals. The crackdown, confirmed by Ministry of Internal Affairs spokesperson Simon Mundeyi, is part of a broader effort to enforce immigration laws and restore order in the business environment.
According to officials, many of those arrested were found to be residing in the country without valid visas or work permits. Authorities have urged all foreign residents and business operators to regularize their documentation to avoid legal consequences, including fines, deportation, or prosecution.
