KAMPALA, UGANDA — Police at Kabalagala have opened investigations into a suspected murder following the death of Matovu Moses, a musician with the renowned Afrigo Band, after he was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants in Kampala.
According to police, the incident occurred on the morning of Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Kibuli Market Zone B in Makindye Division, Kampala District. The circumstances surrounding the reported attack remain unclear as investigators work to establish what led to the incident.
Moses was reportedly rushed to Kibuli Hospital for medical attention after sustaining injuries in the alleged attack. However, despite efforts to save his life, he later succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.
Police at Kabalagala have since dispatched a task team to the scene to conduct investigations and gather information that could help establish the circumstances surrounding the musician’s death.
Investigators are also pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspected assailants. At the time of publication, police had not disclosed the motive behind the alleged attack or identified any suspects in connection with the incident.
