Kampala — The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, today energized supporters and traders in Kalerwe Market as she spearheaded a massive sanitation and clean-up exercise ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s upcoming inauguration ceremony. The bustling event drew hundreds of vendors, youth, and residents who joined hands in promoting hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and community unity within one of Kampala’s busiest commercial hubs.
Upon her arrival, Hajjat Namyalo received a heroic welcome from excited vendors and market leaders who applauded her consistent grassroots engagement and commitment to ordinary Ugandans. Moving through different sections of the market, she interacted freely with traders, listened to their concerns, and personally participated in the cleaning exercise, a gesture many described as a rare example of practical and people-centered leadership.
During the engagement, several emotional vendors appealed to Namyalo to relay their cries to President Museveni, highlighting the urgent need for business capital and empowerment opportunities. The traders explained that despite their determination and hard work, limited financial support continues to frustrate efforts to expand their businesses and improve household incomes. Many expressed hope that government intervention could transform their livelihoods and create a brighter future for their families.
Responding to the concerns, Hajjat Namyalo assured the crowd that President Museveni’s government remains committed to lifting Ugandans out of poverty through wealth-creation initiatives. She revealed that immediately after the President’s swearing-in ceremony next week, more empowerment programs targeting youth, women, and market vendors would be rolled out across the country. Her message ignited excitement among the traders, who responded with chants and applause in support of both President Museveni and the ONC boss.
The traders further praised Namyalo for her humility and direct connection with ordinary citizens, saying she stands apart from many public officials who rarely interact with communities on the ground. Several vendors noted that her willingness to clean alongside them, listen to their struggles, and personally visit the market demonstrated genuine leadership and concern for the welfare of common Ugandans. The atmosphere remained lively as residents gathered around to witness the energetic exercise and engage with the ONC team.
As the event concluded, Hajjat Namyalo rallied the “Bazzukulu” from Kalerwe and surrounding areas to turn up in large numbers at Kololo Independence Grounds for President Museveni’s inauguration celebrations on Tuesday. She urged Ugandans to embrace unity, support government development programs, and remain optimistic about the country’s future. The exercise ended on a high note, with many vendors pledging to attend the ceremony and expressing renewed hope in the government’s promised empowerment initiatives.
