Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Manager and Senior Presidential Adviser/Political Adviser, Hajjat Hadija Namyalo Uzeiya, has called on Ugandans to jealously safeguard the peace, security and stability that have provided the foundation for the country’s development since the restoration of stability.

Speaking as Uganda commemorates its Independence, Hajjat Namyalo emphasised that independence carries meaning only when citizens can enjoy peace, security and the freedoms that come with a stable nation. She cautioned against actions that could undermine the country’s hard-earned gains, urging Ugandans to resolve political and social differences responsibly.
Hajjat Namyalo noted that Ugandans today have the space to debate, criticise government and participate in political activities because of the political environment that has evolved over the years. While acknowledging that citizens may hold divergent political views, she stressed that such differences should never become a justification for destabilising the country.
She further underscored the importance of Uganda’s natural resources, particularly oil, calling for the country’s petroleum wealth to translate into tangible benefits for ordinary Ugandans. She said the discovery of oil presents an important opportunity to strengthen the economy, improve livelihoods and create a more prosperous future if managed responsibly and for the benefit of the wider population.
Reflecting on Uganda’s history, Hajjat Namyalo urged citizens to remember the difficult periods the country endured and the importance of preserving the peace and stability achieved since 1986. She said the Uganda of tomorrow requires wisdom, humility, responsible leadership and citizens committed to protecting the national interest above division and political confrontation.
As Uganda marks another year of Independence, Hajjat Namyalo called for unity, harmony and patriotism, urging Ugandans to protect the country’s achievements while working together to build a prosperous future. She concluded by praying for the continued protection of Uganda, its people and its leadership, and wished all Ugandans a peaceful and meaningful Independence celebration.
