Hon. Nalule Joanitah is emerging as a prominent voice in women’s leadership, building her political journey from the grassroots of Masaka District to a wider national platform. Her story reflects persistence, community engagement and a determination to create space for women to participate meaningfully in leadership and development.
Her political journey has been marked by resilience. Publicly available reporting shows that Nalule previously contested for the Masaka District Woman Member of Parliament seat and, in the 2021 elections, finished second with 11,303 votes after running as an independent candidate. She later returned to the political arena and secured the NRM flag ahead of the 2026 elections, demonstrating her continued political relevance in the region.
Beyond electoral politics, Nalule has positioned herself as a leader who understands the importance of grassroots mobilisation and direct engagement with communities. Her message centres on ensuring that women are not merely represented in leadership structures, but are actively involved in shaping decisions that affect their livelihoods, families and communities.
Her connection with women in Masaka remains one of the key pillars of her leadership. From community mobilisation to development-oriented initiatives, she has continued to champion a leadership approach focused on listening to women and bringing their concerns closer to decision-makers.
As she looks beyond Masaka, Nalule is seeking to take that grassroots experience onto a broader platform. Her campaign for the Publicity Secretary position of the National Women Council presents her as a candidate seeking to strengthen communication, amplify women’s voices and ensure that women across Uganda remain informed, united and empowered.
Her campaign message — “Amplifying Our Voices, Uniting Women, Building the Nation” — captures the direction she wants to take. It speaks to a leadership style built around communication, unity and collective action, while recognising that empowered women are central to stronger families, communities and the nation.
With her political experience, grassroots networks and continued engagement with women, Hon. Nalule Joanitah enters the next stage of her journey with a clear ambition: to give women a stronger voice, communicate their concerns more effectively and help build a more united and empowered women’s movement across Uganda.
