Government forensic DNA results have officially confirmed that only four of the 25 individuals who claimed to be children of the late Ugandan music legend Paul Kafeero are his biological offspring. The findings were released after a comprehensive scientific verification process aimed at resolving longstanding questions regarding the musician’s rightful heirs.

According to the DNA analysis, the individuals positively identified as biological children of Paul Kafeero are Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swaz Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa. Their identities were established through forensic testing conducted by government experts, providing conclusive evidence of their relationship to the deceased musician.

The DNA exercise was undertaken to address disputes and competing claims that emerged over the years concerning Kafeero’s estate and family lineage. A total of 25 claimants participated in the process, each seeking recognition as a biological child of the renowned artist. However, the results showed that only four of them shared a biological connection with him.

The findings are expected to play a significant role in the administration of Paul Kafeero’s estate and any future legal proceedings related to inheritance and family rights. By establishing the legitimate biological heirs, the forensic results provide a clear basis for resolving issues that may have arisen from conflicting claims.

Paul Kafeero remains one of Uganda’s most celebrated musicians, remembered for his enduring contribution to traditional and contemporary music. While the DNA results may bring disappointment to many of the claimants, they also offer clarity and closure to a matter that has remained unresolved for years, ensuring that his legacy is preserved with factual accuracy.
