ONC Manager Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Strengthens Grassroots Engagement During Makindye Voter Registration Monitoring Tour
The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has reaffirmed her commitment to grassroots mobilisation and community engagement during a monitoring tour of the ongoing voter register update exercise in Makindye Division. The tour is aimed at assessing public participation in the voter verification and registration process ahead of the forthcoming Local Council (LC) and Women Council elections.
During her visit to Katenda Zone in Katwe, Hajjat Namyalo shared a simple meal of yellow bananas with women in the community, creating a warm and interactive moment that reflected her close connection with ordinary citizens. The women warmly welcomed her, exchanging smiles, conversations, and messages of appreciation, highlighting the strong relationship she continues to build with the Bazzukulu at the grassroots level.
The ONC Manager began her monitoring activities in Lubowa Village, Kibuli Parish, where she encouraged residents to actively participate in the voter register verification exercise. She emphasized that an accurate and updated voter register is a vital foundation for credible, transparent, and inclusive elections, urging all eligible voters to confirm their details before the exercise deadline.
Addressing community members, Hajjat Namyalo called upon the Bazzukulu to take an active role in shaping the leadership of their communities by electing leaders with integrity, commitment, and the ability to respond effectively to local challenges. She further encouraged support for National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidates, noting that leaders who work in harmony with government programmes can help accelerate service delivery and development initiatives.
The monitoring tour will continue across different areas of Makindye Division as preparations for the grassroots elections progress. Through her continued engagement with communities, Hajjat Namyalo has emphasized the importance of voter participation, responsible leadership, and strengthening the connection between citizens and their leaders at the local level.
