This evening in Kyankwanzi, President Yoweri Museveni stated that corruption will not be tolerated, warning that all those involved have been put on notice and that decisive action will be taken against them. He emphasized that the government remains committed to accountability and that any form of misconduct undermines national progress.
He noted that leaders, particularly Members of Parliament, have a responsibility to reject bribery and serve with integrity. According to the President, leadership must be grounded in honesty and dedication to the public good in order to build trust and achieve sustainable development.
President Museveni also expressed appreciation for regional partners, including Hassan Omar of the United Democratic Alliance of Kenya, for highlighting the need to overcome fragmented markets and policies. He stressed that greater cooperation across Africa is essential for unlocking the continent’s economic potential and ensuring shared prosperity.
He further remarked that retreats such as the one held at Kyankwanzi are vital for renewing commitment to the mission of national transformation. The President congratulated the Members of Parliament on a successful retreat and urged them to remain focused on delivering meaningful results for the people.
